Pet Deposits

Hi,

I am living in a apartment and my landlord has decided to no longer allow pets even tho we have verbal agreement. He says there is nothing in writing stating that he agreed to the allowance of pets. My question is, he has requested a $4,000 per pet deposit, get rid of the pets or move out. If $4,000 a legal request?

call the consumer help line. Let us know what happens, I have never heard of such an outragous amount for a deposit and don't think is is legal. Good Luck

the deposit might not be legal but he probably has the right to ban pets. Perhaps its time to move if you cannot part with the pet.
