Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Petit Larceny in NY

I was arrested and ticketed for petit larceny. Stole over 250 dollars worth of items from a department store. The police officer said because i was 18 and had never been arrested before, that i wasn't looking at jail time and it wouldn't go on my permanent record. my question is how much is this fine going to cost.

The Officer does not know that! Any criminal conviction will show on your record. You should talk to an Attorney

yeah but, hiring a lawyer will just cost me more money in the end.. to be completely honest with you i don't care if it goes on my permanent record i just wanna know the cost and if jail time or probation will take affect.

Your not being very wise but ok. If you dont care walk in plead guilty get whatever judge gives you. Expect a criminal record that will follow you for life making jobs and other things more difficult

It would be refreshing if all those who committed a crime were like this, however. Save a lot of time and money. . .
