Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Petty Larceny - First Offense

Well, what a retard I was, complete eye opener for sure. I am 26 years old, my 14 year old sister and I made a trip to (retail store), she talked me into stealing make-up with her. Of course we used my purse. As we were leaving I got stopped by the loss prevention people. They took my information and I then talked to a police officer. He wrote me a citation for petit larceny and that was it. Didn't ask me to pay for products, or arrest me, he just wrote me a citation.

My court is less than a month away. I need to know what kind of steps I should take. This is my first offense. I have never done anything like this before. And I promise this is my last. I have never been so scared in my life. My gut told me this was wrong but I did it anyways. Ugh! How stupid can I be!

I haev been told I need an attorney, they I have been told I don't. Its going to municiple court so I dont even know what that means. Im scared to death to go to court because I dont know what the outcome will be. I will pay anything and everything I need to.

Yes you need an Attorney and when you meet with this attorney ask about plea options like ACD or Diversion. I would also recommend you remove store name from post. I work in the retail theft field and I can tell you that posting too much info can and has been harmful in past

Agree to getting a lawyer & be sure to pay all fines.

You are INNOCENT until the state (not the retailer) PROVES your guilt in a court of law.

Towards DEFEATING that outcome, shut up, lawyer up, and say nothing more of this sordid affair.

Stay out of additional trouble during the pendency of this matter, and stop stealing, assuming you did steal, as you are as INNOCENT and as PURE as a lamb - UNTIL the state PROVES your guilt.

That is easily done if you keep BLABBING.
