Recently I appeared in trial regarding petty theft. I plead guilty and the judge gave me an adjunction of guilt? No one really explained this. My record was spotless prior to this charge. What does this do to my record, and what does it show up as on background checks? Someone please clarify.

Google this: Adjudication of Guilt and your states name. Each state is a little different. As far as I know, yes it will show up on background checks. But if it is dismissed you may be able to have it expunged (but not in TX). The probation/community service has to be served first and then dismissed before you can do anything and there may be a waiting period.
