I started a local business in 1987. I have had the same phone number since the beginning. My son, who has been running the family business since 2007, change carrier
in 2014 to Comcast. He now is claiming ownership and is trying to move the number to a different location and changing the name. How can I stop this. He has put himself down as owner with Comcast(he has never had any legal ownership) I own the corporate name and all stock. Contacting Comcast is a nightmare. I have started civil litigation in Circuit Court claiming fraud, conversion and embezzlement.
This could drag on for months/years. Any suggestions?

Your remedy, if you can't negotiate one, lies in repose in a Michigan court room.
You've begun the process, so you'll have to be patient.
You can ask your attorney about emergency injunctive relief.

Frankly, let him have the darn number.
People change numbers everyday.
What you have built is a reputation for professionalism and customer service.
He can't steal that, because that's you, dad.
Let the little dummy go.
All he as is a ten digit set of numbers.
Your business would be just as great if you used a fire with smoke signals.
You've got experienced entrepreneurship and management experience.
Change your number, keep building a better mousetrap.
Don't let others tell you what you need to fight about.
You're smart enough to know that you're not fighting to get customers, you're building a great business.
