They have not given me any formal training or informal training about the system which is very complicated. My colleagues have verbally stopped me from getting on to the system and working as it is in the testing stage and any small mistake from my part might break the system and delay the testing. So I kept off from the system. My team has only 1 person other than me and my manager. The other person left the company 2 months ago. Now the entire responsibility fell on my shoulders. I absolutely had no idea what to do. There was a guy from another team has been working for my team. (He is the one who stopped me from working on the system and he also has strong intentions to work for my team but was not let in). I could not do anything due to my lack of knowledge and intimidation from this guy that I may break the system. The project which was supposed to last 2 weeks is still continuing after 3.5 months and 10 days ago my manager was demoted from his position and was given a standalone role. They have given me a PIP now. They also offered me to leave and reconsider my career opportunities as I was just out of grad school. They told me verbally that they will relieve me of the financial obligations that I owe to the company if I leave within 2 years (there is a clause that if I leave the company within 2 years I have to repay the relocation and visa sponsorship expenses). The senior management lacks the knowledge about the technical intricacies and thinks that I have not performed well. The guy who was working with our team gave a very bad review about me. It was very clear that he and my manager have played double games. This guy would intimidate me verbally (about breaking the system) and go and tell the senior management that I am not making any advances. My manager on the other hand was demoted due to the long delay in the project and he has blamed me for that indirectly. These are the only two people who will be writing my review after the PIP. If I complain against them its not going to do any good to me. The bottom line is that I was never offered the help and information I requested for and any training which is mandatory for working on the system which is prone to break at the minutest mistake. The conditions in the PIP were set to very high standard. The PIP was given to me last week on Thu (Sep 16th). My PIP was stated to be 2 weeks, but effectively its just 5 days as they said I will have a review on Wednesday (Sep 22) and panel interview on Thursday (23rd). I have no other way except to resign. What should I write in my resignation letter and what date as my last day? Is there a way to get any sort of severance package? I am concerned that this might hamper my future career prospects as I am just a beginner. How should I deal with this situation so that, it doesnt affect my future prospects. I am a student on visa and financially weak. I cannot afford to stay in this costly place without any income. How do I handle this situation? Can someone advise me on this?
