plead not guilty, want to change my mind

I have a question, I was given a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign. I called the officer and asked him if I chose to go to court if he would work with me to reduce the points, he told me to meet up with him before going into the hearing and we'd discuss it. So I went to court and paid the fine (I had to pay it in full eventhough I pleaded not guilty) and got a court date for May. Anyway, its my first offense and I decided I just want it to be over with points or not and i'll just drive carefully and wait for the 3 points to be removed in 12 months. Is there anyway to change your plea to guilty and cancel the court date? Or is it too late to change my mind?

Thanks for the info.

It would help if you psoted your state. First call the clerk of court and see if there are any other options like a deferment or traffic school. I also don't know of any state where all of the points will come off at the end of the first year.

If you have changed your mind just notify the clerk of court. They will be happy to keep your money.

My state is PA and I would get 3 points and 3 points are removed each year for good driving. So that would lead me to conclude if I had 3 points and drove for a year without getting any additional points that the 3 points would be knocked off, thus bringing me back down to zero.
