Hi, thanks for your time.
I will preface by saying I have a bad driving history, and am at the point that each surcharge could result in suspension.
I was driving this morning and was pulled over, written a citation for expired registration. The officer also noted a rejection sticker on the ticket.
The rejection sticker is only 1 week old, and it is a black R for emissions failure. I am understanding that it should be okay? I am allowed to drive with emissions failure for 60 days?
However the expired registration is indeed true. I believed my registration was for 2 years, this one I got when I purchased my Jeep used last year and it is only for 1 year. It was good until 2/31.
The officer tells me I should go to court with my new valid registration and hope it is dismissed.
I am in a bad spot which could result in suspension of my license, is there anything else I can do to increase my chances of having this dismissed? And does anyone have any idea why my registration on my personal vehicle was only for 1 year? It is a standard registration, not commercial, plow or vanity... nothing, just my daily driver.
I have vanity plates on my second car, I can only guess it was an error that this one is also set up for yearly renewal?
