a year ago i was arrested for a third degree felony larceny. I went to court with a public defender and agreed to a plea deal for one year of probation, restitution, fine and cost. I completed my probation with no violations and any problems what so ever. And on top of that i had no priors before that either. Now that probation is over and my case has been closed i wanted to get on with my life so i got my G.E.D and enrolled in a community college for radiology but they are giving me a hard time due to the charge. So now i decided to file to get my charge expunged BUT i was just informed that i cant get it expunged because i was adjudicated guilty. I didnt know what that ment at first but i spoke to an attorny and he explained it too me. He also told me that the public defender i had basically left me out to dry because sense that was my first charge and it was a third degree felony i should of and more likely could of been adjudication withheld. Now without that expungion i see no way of going to school or work as of now. I hope there is a way around this or a way i can possibly get this fixed or changed. PLEASE HELP ME, i just want to move on and get my life back together thats all. Can i bring this to court and possibly get it changed to withheld or something? Thanks for your time

I my state, for a single conviction to be expunged, one must wait 5 years. It's still worth contact an attorney about, as having them answer this simple question shouldn't cost you any money, can probably just be done over the phone. . .
