I started using ebay a few days ago, and while I was browsing, I unintentionally bought a car. I can not afford it (I'm still in highschool!), and have contacted the seller, but he is not willing to: forgive me, re list the item, or file an Unpaid Item Dispute. He has been calling. emailing, and texting me during class (harassing) telling me that I can pay an inconvenience of $5,500 within the next two days or else he is going to sue me.

Please help me.

Hang in there

WARNING: MOM OPINION, NOT A LEGAL OPINION

Contact your cell carrier and find out if you can block his number and messages. If the best action I can do against my ex for selling identifiable and unique antiques on ebay in small claims court, this guy is not going to be able to go after you for the car. He can try, but seriously, if you don't have 5K now, what would he hope to accomplish? Has he had any losses due to your actions?

You say you are in high school, but you don't say how old you are. The possibility of being kicked off from ebay is high if you are under age. If you are not 18, that would be the first thing I would tell my son is to advise the other party you are a minor. I suspect he is a hothead more than being serious. All parents are different, so use your judgment in this other recommendation - share this with your parents. They just may surprise you. If we expected to give birth to little adults that made all the right decisions, we wouldn't have bothered with the parenthood experience.

Best of luck -

My gut tells me the worse will be a complaint, possibly suspension from Ebay. Anyone can sue anyone for anything, but I do think you will be fine.
