I have been married like about 4 years and my husband is filling divorce. In last 4 years he has threatened me about leaving/divorcing several times. I am new to this country(USA), I have been here 4 years. My husband earns about $13000 per month and myself $2000 per month. I am quite sure my husband was abusing me verbally and being new to this country without friends and family i didn't have much choices :( Last week my husband just threatened me that he will move out from the apartment where I am now and I should move out as well. Now what should I do in this situation? I dont have money to hire an attorney. My husband travels during the week; today I thought let me at least make copies of our tax documents; but i found that he took all the tax documents and all his investment papers( I dont know where?) and I am feeling helpless. I need to know what i can ask from him legally?

Did he sponsor your residency here through your marriage and sign the I-864 Affidavit of Support?

It's a VERY important question.

He is a US citizen; so this year i have received my US Citizenship as part of my marriage. I came here in US with K1 fiance visa.

Talk to a local attorney.
Ask the attorney about cross-filing for divorce on the grounds of mental cruelty, verbal and physical abuse.
Ask the attorney to petition for emergency spousal support and emergency and exclusive use of the marital home for you.
Ask about an emergency order requiring your husband to pay your rent.
Finally, ask the attorney to seek an order to discover all marital assets.
This will freeze his bank accounts, until the court can hear your petition. You don't need money. The attorney can ask the court to require your husband to pay your attorney.
