One step at a time.
You must first address the current theft charges.
You plead not guilty, hire a lawyer, or ask the court if you qualify for a public defender.

If you're ever able to improve your criminal history, now is not the time to worry about that, or your job.

With your history, you need to work with your lawyer to stay out of jail.

This might be your second strike, maybe third strike, so get through this first.

Yes, you might lose your jobs.

Isn't keeping your FREEDOM the most important thing?
If you don't understand, think about this.
If you go to jail, you won't even have a shot at a lesser job.
You could end up working for 5¢ an hour, maybe 25¢ a day at a state jail.

You need help, too.
You've broken the law, and this isn't the second time, either.
It's only the 2nd time you were caught.
You might want to enroll in theft, ethics, and honesty classes.
If you are having mental health issues, better see a psychiatrist, pronto.
The fact that the cops arrested you at work, says its very serious.
So, stop blabbing and do as instructed.
The next time you ask questions about this, or discuss the crime, do it only with your lawyer!!!!

Good luck.

I am a Retail Theft consultant and answer questions like yours daily. If your first charge was at 17 were you tried as minor or adult (this is important). Its possible (ask your Lawyer) you might still qualify for ACD or Diversion which can keep a conviction off your record. Again ask your Lawyer. In addition I have a suggestion. Several years ago I had a client in a similar situation I advised him to take and complete the Anti Shoplifting course offered by (not for profit) group NASP. He did and showed Judge his proof of completion. Judge was so pleased he dismissed his case on the spot NO PROBATION! I cannot say same will happen for you but cannot hurt

Yes, you certainly might lose your job(s). Employer(s) decision.
