This is a long drawn out story. So I'll try to sum it up. We rented 2 rooms in a 1 family home. From the start we had problems with her. She had about 20 code violation, Such as unlawful entry, no heat/water/or house keys/no locks on the doors/no bathroom floor. When we asked her to fix these issues she evicted us on the spot(as you know that was illegal in itself) We told her we looking for a new place anyway. We had many verbal arguments after that.Until January 26 08 She had called the fire department to have the fire alarms inspected. (she had put them up the day before, another violation) She was told they would come right then, She refused saying monday would be better 2 hours later she set my room on fire. I do have a good amount of evidence supporting that, the rest she destroyed. my question is do i have a legal right to the fire report i was told since i was not the homeowner i could not have a copy, but according to what i have heard my door just went up in flames all by itself. we were cleared as suspects the same day probably as i collapsed crying when they brought out what was left of my dead daughters ashes not to mention she tried to kill my dog.The landlord went into hiding even the police could not find her. we were unable to get the rest of our things for a month and what she did give back was mostly destroyed or just was not there. my pc was in pieces and it was not even close to the fire. we this woman took away what little i had of my hailey, i lost all my pictures, things she made me, jewelry she gave me. and i can't replace that ever and this woman is going to get away with it all we are suing for the damage she did, not from the fire. and even if we win, we still lost
