I have purchased my best friends house to save it from foreclosure. She is no longer paying the rent and her husband is blackmailing me. Is there any course of action I can follow to protect myself? Anything? I now understand the saying "no good deed goes unpunished" They are preventing me from selling the property or renting it out to someone who will pay! I am a women that can provide for myself. I have my own home that I pay for. I have never been in any trouble with the law. I love people and want to help people. I'm currently a nursing student and have given up a well paying position of 16 years to pursue my new career. I stupidly wanted to help this family out. Not only am I afraid of the financial consequences that I may incur but I am also afraid of what the husband might do. I know his is involved with drugs and I did offer to put him in a rehab facility. He denied using. Any help would be greatly appreciated is this matter. The husband is making up stories and making my life a living hell. He know is currently trying to get my spouse involved!
