In 1996, I got married to a US citizen in the State of FL. We got separated a short while after that, and in 1999, I left the US. I tried to get in touch with ex wife so that she files for divorce, but she was no where to find. I got married again while outside the US in a country that allow polygamy eventhough I had no intention to marry two women at the same time. I hired a lawyer, and she helped me finalize the divorce from the woman I married in FL. All the divorce process was done while I was married to my present wife.
I am a Canadian citizen, and the company I work for here in the US would like to sponsor my green card in order to get a permanent resident status. I am concerned that the immigration would accuse me of polygamy, and deny my green card. I would appreciate you advice in this regard.

Did you get divorced from the first wife?
