I was pulled over in Rapid City, S. Dakota for speeding. Supposedly 68 in a 65, were there is a transition in the speed limit to 70. Upon being pulled over the officer asked for my license I gave it to him. He then asked me to get out of the SUV and come back to his car with him. I did. He then proceded to ask me if I had anything in the SUV that He should know about. I said no. He asked me if he could search the car. I said no. I was in the front seat of the cop car and the dog was in the back sitting quietly without a peep. He told me he was going to walk his dog around the car and if everything was ok, I would be free to go. He then took a dog toy and waived it under 2 wheel wells. Came back to the car and got the dog. Took the dog to the other side were he did not put the toy and the dog did nothing? Walked the gog around the back tailgate area and still nothing. When he took the dog to the side were he had put the toy he motioned for the dog to look in a certain place. The dog tiredly stretched out like it was in the back seat too long and he then opened the side door looked in the back and then went to the back tailgate area witch the dog already walked by with no alert, and opened it. Upon doing this found marijuana. I then was read my rights and taken to their jail. It's been a little over a year now and I think my lawyer isn't giving me proper representation. I need help! I dont have a criminal record and they are being unfair with what they want me to do. Not to mention i've seen ALOT of people getting aressted by the same officer, same dog and same situation a number of times before and after this happened to me. Not to mention an article I found about a plane with an inferred scanner that can detect heat sources from up to a mile away the size of a cat. I'm desperetly tring to find a lawyer that will battle it out and not railroad me. There are alot of discrepincies in this situation.
