I am a foreigner in the US, came here for 1 year only. Last week I got a ticket for something I did by mistake
(not used to this kind of intersection - does not exist where I come from). The police officer gave me a ticket and said "I never show up at court". What was he implying?
Today, I went online and wanted to pay the fine, but I found out that I am accused of something else! My ticket states "driving wrong side of street" while my ticket online says "driving with no lights at night". Just for the record: That ticket was given to me on 02:59PM so there is no chance that it was night...
I am lost, I don't know what to do.. should I pay the fine? should I go to court and plea not guilty and explain that I made an honest mistake because I came here only 7 months ago? What should I do with the fact that i am accused with the wrong felony?

If I were you, and accused of a felony, appear in court.
Plead not guilty and ask for the court to appoint a lawyer to represent you.
Then make no statements about this until you speak to your lawyer!
If you are accused of committing a FELONY, get over to your embassy or your consulate.
If it is a felony, the diplomats of your home country need to know.
They can make sure your family knows and can assist you with understanding your rights.
If I were you, I'd see my embassy or consulate sooner, rather than later!!!

The offense is a simple infraction, not a felony.
Your solution is simple... either pay the fine and be done with it, or appear in court, plea not guilty, and await a hearing. If the officer does not show, as he indicated, the whole thing will be dismissed.
