If your reading this thanks! Recently my friend was pulled over for suspicion of dui for swerving at four pm (she was not intoxicated) and the police asked if she had anything and unfortunately she admitted to having a scale 2 grams of marijuana. The police also found 13 suboxin (she forgot she had that) and confiscated 400 dollars from her possession. What should/can she do? i know she can most likely plead to possesion but most importantly that money wasn't drug money it was rent money that she needs is it possible to get it back around the time of now?!! i know they may seize large amounts of cash but she has a legitimate job and 400 dollars is pretty reasonable. on top of this she is on ARD although she is almost done with it is she at risk of losing the benefits of this? any help would be greatly appreciated and sorry for my giant mash of sentences its 105 am and im lazy.

She has already talked too much.

Now she needs to shut up.

She won't see that money for months, if ever again!

She should appear as directed for court, plead not guilty, and when the time comes to ask; request the court to appoint a lawyer to represent her.

These things take time, months, lots of months.

Until she learns who her lawyer will be, she has to wait.

She also needs to stay outta any more trouble.

And, she has to leave those damn drugs alone!!!

If she refuses, she'll be spending those months, those oh so many months; in a filthy, nasty, county jail cell!!!

what was she charged with by the way? Did she have a prescript for the suboxen?

she does not have a script for them. surprisingly she wasnt arrested they just told her the charges would be sent in the mail.

i know she can most likely plead to possesion but most importantly that money wasn't drug money it was rent money that she needs is it possible to get it back around the time of now?!!

If she takes a plea for possession it is probably to avoid the other charges which include intent to sell.

Chances of getting that cash back right away? Zero.

The money will be held until the DA decides it no longer needs to beheld as evidence.

Whether she loses any benefits will depend greatly on whether or not she pleads guilty, what she pleads guilty to, or if there is a conviction. Without a plea or a conviction then nothing happened, and the benefits are likely safe.
