Hi,

I found this forum while looking at the law role in my case.

I used to know someone and he is threatening me but the problem is the messages are in another language than English.
Do I have to till the police or what should I do?

I know my apartment complex has a high security but am still afraid because he told me he is coming on July 15th to punch my face or something like this.

Please help me!

Thanks

. . .

Well, he gave you a clear date, and you believe it is likely to happen.

I don't see why you don't call the police and tell them what the letter says. What language is it in? Who knows, maybe you'll luck out and they'll have an officer who knows this language, or knows somebody who does.

Good luck.

Also, it's really weird of him to give you a specific date like that. Maybe he thinks you'll be somewhere else on that date. . . odds are he just wants to be specific to make it more real that he'll attack you. . .

Regardless, I'd contact the police.

You can tell the police about it if you wish. Whether it is a crime or not is something that the police will have to evaluate. It may not be a crime unless he shows to fulfill the threat ... or, maybe, simply making the threat and your believing it is enough. Not being familiar with MN law on the subject I can't say.

The police will likely do little more than attempt to contact him and ask about the threat. If he confesses to a crime he might be arrested or they might file the case with the DA and ask for a warrant. If he denies being serious about it, then the police might still send it to the DA. What will happen then is anyone' guess.

DA= District Attorney.

I think after the police contact him he'll be scared off. But, who can know for sure?

I'm glad you are contacting the police.

thanks a lot guys.. he just new that i have deleted my email and he send me again asking if i did or not.. but am not responding him from may... am so scared :(
