Recently had a vehicle restored cost $15,000 and very poor workmanship, i have taken it to three different auto body shops and have estimates to restore it back for $15,000 to $20,000. this was a rare vehicle that was worth more before poor restoration was done. the original body shop gave verbal and written warrantee for one year on parts and workmanship. can I recover my $15,000 spent to have another quality body shop repair their damage. what field of law does this fall under civil or business? also now i can not even open or close the doors due to poor restoration, can I go after the body shop for a safety issue, he brought my vehicle back unusable as it would dangerous to operate.
thanks

This is a civil case. You will probably want to document everything and get two estimates to show why the work was below standard. Did you pay in advance? Was this the total amount due? You'll probably also want to notify the original restorer of a breach of contract before you sue. There are many open details here that would make me wonder about your case and whether this is a warranty issue and you want them to honor the warranty.
