Position wrongly eliminated?

Hello, Is it considered wrongful termination when the reason the company provided to me as to my 'elimination' was to realign my territory with another territory (outside of my state) and later I found out the manager of this other territory was in fact building a home and moved to my territory soon after my termination? There was no termination for lack of performance and no warning leading up to it other than the fact that I heard the other manager who took over my territory was plotting this. I've been with the company for more than 30 years!

You can be terminated because you're too ugly, your nose is too big, you wear blue shoes, the boss just doesn't like you, or just because the boss decides she wants to promote her girlfriend to your job. You aren't required to be counseled, warned, or consulted.

It may not have been polite, but it wasn't illegal.

Agree, not illegal. Unless you have a binding employment contract to the contrary, you can be terminated at any time for any reason (or no reason) except for a reason prohibited by law (examples-religion, race, gender).

Not a wrongful termination, sorry.

File for unemployment ins. The state will decide if you qualify. Also, look for other employment.

Concur with the others. This is not a wrongful term as defined by law. It may or may not be unfair, but unfair does not equate to illegal.
