Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication possession of alcohol by a minor

i was in a vehicle with 4 other people, the driver went 50mph in a 30mph and got pulled over for speeding, her liscense was in her beach bag in the trunk. we had a cooler and a 30 pack in the trunk. she got the beach bag, and closed the trunk, then the cop made her reopen it, and looked in the cooler and saw a couple of beers. there was also a 30 pack hidden under towels. he put two of us in handcuffs and sat us in his car to feel safer, he didnt like the five people one cop ratio. then we told him about the 30 pack hidden, cuz he was gonna find it anyways. we all got possession of alcohol by a minor. the thing is that i and another person rode up the lake, and our driver left early to go to a date, we then hitched a ride back with the driver that got pulled over. the other person and i did not know that there were beers in the trunk. are we guilty by association? or should we fight this, the other person is 17, and i am 18.
