Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication possession of malt beverage

My son received a ticket for possession of ETOH by a minor last year (age 19) and we got a lawyer and he received what we were told was dismissal of charges after one year of not getting in trouble again. Well, of course, a few weeks after that second court date, where the charge was dismissed, I think, he was ticketed again for minor possession. He is 20 years old, was holding a six pack of beer, none was open. He wants to try to get a PJC this time since we were told the previous charge was dismissed. Is there any way to check this online, without going down to the courthouse?(this was in a different county). If he goes to court without a lawyer what can he expect?
