Possibly being overpayed

We recently had our reviews at my company. At the end of the review I was shown my current salary, what my percent raise would be, and what my new salary would be. The number they had for my current salary was about 3k more a year than what I actually make. I pointed this out to my manager and he said he would have to talk to me later after they figured it out. I was called back into his office an hour later, he said "Sorry", and then showed me my new salary again which was the "correct" amount.

I got my first paycheck after my review, and the amount was for the original/wrong amount that they showed me. I assumed that the checks had already been cut by the time we had our reviews and that it would be fixed. I got my second paycheck yesterday and the amount was the same. It boils down to about an extra 3000 a year after taxes.

I really need this money since I'm barely making ends meet so I'm hesitant to say anything. Would I be in the wrong since I already corrected them once if I didn't say anything now?

Sounds like a possible miscommunication between your manager and the payroll department. Perhaps the "incorrect" pay adjustment form was sent.

Most definitely bring this to the attention of your manager. He should rectify this with the payroll department and any "short" amount from the prior to paychecks should be added to your next corrected paycheck.

Why should you be hesitant? It appears to be nothing more than an honest error.

I think I may have been unclear, I apologize.

When I was shown my current salary during my review, it was a few thousand higher than what I was actually making, and the new amount they were going to pay was 3% higher than that. I told him that the amount of money I was currently making was lower, and he said that he would talk to me later.

When he talked to me later, he showed me a new number, which was what I was actually making, with a 3% raise. The two paychecks I've got since were for the amount they originally showed me that was 3k higher a year. So I think I'm being over payed, not under payed.

I'm hesitant to say anything because if I do they will probably cut my salary down by 3k and like I said I really need the money, at the same time though I don't want to get in any trouble.

You should go talk to them about it. Oother wise sooner or later they will catch on and the amount that would have to be paid back would be outragous. Better to fix it now then later.
