Less than a week ago i had the court date for my first shoplifting offense in MN (i had nothing prior on my record). I met with a public defender, and it was resolved as a petty misdemeanor (which the public defender told me wouldnt come up on most background checks, and is about the same as a speeding ticket). The judge didnt order me to pay any restitution charges, and i had about $185 in court fees to pay, which i did so right after the case.
So i was just wondering is this matter now over? or is the department store going to come after me and make me pay more money even though i was not ordered by the courts to pay restitution?

ok. So civil demand is different than restitution then?
and this incidient occured a few days before halloween, it is now January 6th. Could i still expect something in the mail, or do you think enough time has elapsed since the incident for them not to send me a civil demand?
