I am residing in Chicago, IL. I am legally divorced since last May. My ex has owed me money before the finalization of the divorce. Per the MSA, if he hasnt reimbursed me the money prior the sale of the house, then the money will be deducted from the profit. Also, he is required to pay half of the household bills until the house is sold.
However, he has been MIA since last December. He hasnt made a deposit since December 3rd, 2007. I have contacted him million times but I havent been able to get a hold with him. He has his cellphone turned off. He quitted his job. I sent 2 letters to his parents where he's been staying since our separation and so far his parents havent contacted me back of his whereabout. Per one of his friends, he is out of the country and is currently working in China.
I have contacted his lawyer but he told me the (divorce case) is over and he is no longer providing service to my ex.
Is there anything I can do to enforce the MSA?
Can I have his name taken off from the house since he hasnt been paying his share of mortgage and household bills?
Do I need to hire a lawyer to have a post divorce modification?
I am drained emotionally, mentally and financially.
