I won a judgement in the sum of $7,000. The defendant did not pay the judgement. So, I have to go for garnishment of defendant wages. Am I entitled to get post judgement interest as per stated by ohio law?

You will "probably" need to docket the judgment with the clerk and then you can execute on the judgment. It is important to docket it so it will show on the defendants record and it will create a lien on their property, now and in the future until it is satisfied. This is very important to take care of..

Almost all states automatically grant by statute post judgment interest. Typically about 3% + Federal Prime. You could get pre-judgment interest in allot of cases as well depending on the case issues.

You should also be entitled automatically for all of the court costs, filing, service, etc.

Collecting the judgment is another matter al together unfortunately. Wage garnishment is one but the easier is to have the sheriff go pick their stuff up ... I had them get a bums Harley and that REALLY got his attention!

Good luck
