When a person who is not related to the person that they are POA for, are they obligated to indicate on medical admission forms that there are in fact living next of kin. My elderly aunt in Pennsylvania made a friends daughter her POA. This person on all of the Hosp and rehab facility admission forms has indicated that there are no living relatives (Or no next of kin). Can this person be removed as POA for making false statements when she knows that there are relatives? We were advised of this fact by the head of social services at the Rehab center my Aunt is currently in and by the head nurse.
