Prayer For Judgement/Record Clean Up

I have run into a real problem trying to become a police officer in the state of NC. I have three speeding tickets when I was a teenager, at ages 16,17, and 19. I joined the Navy served five years service no traffic citations, I excelled at everything I did and got out for the sole purpose of becoming a police officer. I have now been turned down because of my driving record, my last ticket was in March 2004. I admit to being a stupid teenage driver with a fast car and two of the tickets (16,17) were 15 over, and my ticket at 19 was 120 in a 65, I know really bad, open road trying to get back to base quickly. Prayer for Judgement was never discussed with me by my attorney, I am now much more mature, 25 years old, five clean years of driving but my past is keeping me from my goals. Is there ANYTHING I may be able to do? Is there any way possible to do some type of Prayer for Judgement after the fact? An appeal of some kind? I am going to a defensive driving class voluntarily to make it look better but these three tickets will continue to haunt me unless there is something I can do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I saw no one else had answered you so even though I have no legal knowledge in this area, I will take a shot.

I seriously doubt this.

I have now been turned down because of my driving record
Were these all speeding tickets or reckless driving charges? Speeding tickets are usually considered infractions versus reckless driving which would be a misdemeanor.

Whereas, I would not expect speeding infractions to disrupt your acceptance into the police academy, though a serious misdemeanor or felony just might.

I have to agree that these offenses were listed as something more than a simple speed violation. Yes, it shows a lack of maturity and can give an agency some great concern, but it is hardly of any real concern some 5 years later and AFTER a term of (presumably) successful and honorable military service.

There has to be something else here.

It is also possible that there is some other issue in your background and they are pointing at the driving record to avoid having to disclose what the REAL reason might be.
