My son decided to get married to a girl he met recently and applied for a marriage licence, and obtained one. a date was also obtained from JP court for finalising the ceremony. Now he is haveing reservations and does not want to proceed ahead because he believes the girl is after his money.
1.Does he need to inform court about the change of plans?
2. Does he need to legally write to the girl?
3. can he just not show up?

In all likelihood, he can probably simply return the marriage certificate un-certified by the JP, or just rip it up.

I'm not sure what you mean by "legally write to the girl", but he doesn't need to do that. It would undoubtedly be a good thing to do so she's not left standing at the altar.
