In 2004, I failed to appear in court in Pennsylvania on charges of theft and forgery and moved to Ohio. I subsequently was placed in prison in Ohio for unrelated charges and it was revealed in court that PA had outstanding warrants on me. I was told that when my 60-day sentence was completed, I would be extradited to PA to face my charges. However, when my 60 days were up, I was released from prison. I don't know if a detainer was ever formally filed by PA. Recently, 6 years later, I learned that the warrants in PA are still outstanding. My question is, is there a statute of limitations on a case such as this? Being neighboring states, I can't understand what the glitch was when I was released from prison. I am a former drug addict who wants to get my past behind me.

Offenses do not justify cost of extradition!

You were released because Pennsylvania did not request your extradition from Ohio due to the fact that your offenses were not deemed serious enough to warrant the huge cost involved in getting you back to face prosecution.

Also, there is no statute of limitations for warrants and so the warrant will remain in effect until you appear in Pennsylvania and the case is dealt with.

However, OP, if you avoid Pennsylvania, you more than likely will never be arrested!
