I had purchased a vehicle in which I am a payment behind now. So the company has been calling the persons on the reference list located on my contract.
I received a phone call from my ex wife stating she knows my new address because the lending company gave it to her. He also stated how much I owed and how late my payment was. He also stated to her that he knows I owe her child support and I have not been current on it.My ex wife and I do not get along and that is why she did not have my address.
So my question is, what legal action can i take if any. And if it is worth the headache to do so. Thank you

Call your lender and have them investigate this internally but here is what is raising red flags all over: You can find out about a person's credit history, current address, any default payments, where you live, past addresses, current addresses by doing a search at websites that have access to public records and that their business is to provide the general public (for a fee) with information that they legally obtain. Unless you have definite proof that the collections person provided your wife with it, one can probably make a case of privacy breach however, I find very hard to believe that collectors are after you just because you are one payment behind and that is because the financial incentive is just not there for the collector.
