I bought a 1992 Honda Civic from a private owner about 2 weeks ago. He told me the only thing that needed to be done to the car was charge the AC. There was a inspection sticker that expired 08/11. The only drive I got to make was from his residence to mine. I could not drive the car about four days after I purchased the car because I had to get the title put into my name and get a registration sticker. After I got that done I tried to drive the car for a second time but the car started to overheat. I had to turn the car off and let it cool down several times before I could get back home. I had a neighbor look at it and he told me I need a new radiator and a possibly a new thermostat. I replaced both and the car still overheats. After doing some research I found out that possibly the car had a blown hear gasket or a warped head. My neighbor looked at the car once more and discovered there was threads coming out of one of the tubes and the exhaust and engine has rust all in the car. He told me that means its been overheating long before I purchased the car. The car needs a new engine and it won't even idle correctly. He also told me the inspection sticker that was placed on the car was fake. When I bought the car the guy told me the car was daughter's and she was going off to college and that's why he was selling the car. When I called him wanting my money back he told me he had to check with the guy he bought the car from. When asked about the fake inspection sticker he said that sticker was on there when he bought the car two years ago. Again the sticker expires 08/11. I signed a paper that stated "As is- No warranty", but i feel like I should get some justice out of this. I am 19 years old with a 14 month baby and I live on my own. i cannot afford to buy a new engine. I just need to know where should I turn to? Who do I notify?
