Hi everyone first time poster here. My grandfather recently passed away due to prostate cancer and didnt have anything in order. So now I am stuck with the task of finding out about probate and doing the paper work only thing is I am not sure what forms to fill out or where to find them.
Can you guys point me in the right direction?
I don't have much money right now so I cant afford to get a lawyer to do the work for me.

We are keeping up with the house and property taxes payments.

ok let me add some more info
grandfather died in January with no will.
my mother was supposed to file probate papers and has yet to do so. so i am taking it on. we both live in the house owned by my grandfather who passed.
I have 3 uncles and my mom who all agree that the house should go to us (my mother and I) since we still live there and we were the ones taking care of my grandfather for the last 10 years.

Before you do anything, read the information on these links.
Don't try to do it all in an hour or two, take your time.
If the estate left by your loved one isn't very large, there is an abbreviated way to handle his stuff.
In some cases probate may not be required.
In essence, your grandfather died intestate, so I'm giving you a link on how that works in California.

As your mother is alive, and I'm sure you're happy for that, you don't take anything until her passing.
That shouldn't be a problem, because you live with her currently.
If she has two siblings, they are entitled to split everything equally, as in 1/3.
You aren't directly involved in succession per intestacy.

Good luck:
