Good evening,
6 days ago I found an ad for a flat in London with a gay tenant.
I arranged a viewing and after the meeting with a calm and tidy person I decided to come and live in this flat for 6 months.

I signed a receipt with these words written on it:
"The amount of £870.00 has been received as a deposit for a double bedroom on the following property:address of the property.
This deposit will be refunded subject to the condition of room's usage at the end of tenancy.
Please sign below to ensure the terms and conditions."

The day after I signed the receipt, this person told me that he has many different partners.
Saturday the 22nd of February, I arrived at home at 11pm and I found him in the living room with another man that was wearing only a t-shirt (no underwear). There were cocaine everywhere, also on the dishes where we eat. And this stranger also offered me some drug.
After this stranger showed me a porno video explaining me that he is a porno actor.
The day after I said to my flatmate that I want to leave the flat because I don't want to stay in a flat were there is drug and strangers like that.
He answered that if I want to leave, I will have to pay one month notice besides the one month rent that I've already paid. This because we have a contract and the contract works in this way.
So my question is: Can I ask him my money back if I want to leave now? He hadn't told me that he conduce this kind of life before I signed the receipt.

Thanks,
Matteo Franceschini

Laws vary from country to country (and state to state) but I'd imagine if you notified your landlord that unless you receive all of this money back you'll be reporting the presence of cocaine to the local law enforcement he's likely to return these funds and call it a wash.

You could wait until the next EVENT (and there will be one), film or photograph it, perhaps record it all surreptitiously; and confront him afterwards. Tell him you will inform the police immediately, if he doesn't allow you to escape the lease without financial penalty.

You might leave him a copy of your proof and keep another in a safe place.

Or, you could just walk away before you get ensnared in a police operation that might already be under way.

Or, you could go to the police anyway, and ask them to help you.

Well,
I must say that I've already taken some pictures. I was quite disappointed and I decided to take them.
