So, my roommate and I moved in 7 months ago. Things have gone terribly wrong. She turned out to be a selfish slob. I can no longer live like this...I asked her to pay $50 more in rent to even it out and she said she couldn't. She told me if that would be a problem then to look for someone else to replace her and she'll move. Now that it's down to the wire she doesn't want to move. I do have her saying this in writting. It doesn't include her signature, but it's coming from her email.

Is there anything I can do to get her out of the lease? My parents unfortunatly had to sign the lease with us and they are behind my decision 100%. I have agreed to give her half of the deposit, but now she isn't willing to move.

Please help! I'm tired of this living situation.

Unfortunately being a selfish slob is not a legal reason for terminating a lease.

If she is paying her rent and not breaking the rules of the lease, she doesn't have to move.

Have you considered finding a tenant for your end of the lease and you moving instead?
