can a promissory note be enforced years after statue of limitation has expired? claiming i told them each year i would repay (not true) but says that extends the statue.

A court shall determine whether such a note can be enforced.

The holder of the note will have to prove you said you'd pay, not just assert it.

Such proof is done before a court, not on the street or the telephone.

You need not respond to anything but legal process.

Don't be baited.

We don't know your state but in some states just saying you will pay what you owe can extend the SOL. (Most states though it has to be in writing.) If you did tell them (though you said you didn't) you would pay them, it might have been recorded which might or might not be able to be used.

However, at this time do nothing - wait & see if you are served a summons.
