My roommate had an unwritten agreement to perform mechanical repairs on his friend's car over the period of a week. While the vehicle and the keys were in my roommates possession the car interior was damaged, and I am being accused of the said damage by the vehicles owner. However my roommate has told me that because the keys were in his possession while the damage was done, the vehicle owner has little chance of success in a lawsuit against me and is instead going to sue him. Is what he said correct?
