Our son is facing a divorce. The property where he lives was purchased approximate 7 years ago by my husband, and myself. We listed our son as third owner, so the deed had all of our names. He married in May of 2006. My husband and I done a Quit Claim Deed soon after. The new deed read our son's name, a married person. Etc. His wife is going to try to take the property from him, she had no vested interest in the property, with the exception of marring our son. Is it possible for her to do this since her name is not on the deed at all? Or can our son keep the property? We don't know exactly how a divorce court will handle this. Can you help? Our son resides in Randolph County, Missouri

Since the property was a gift, the court will take that into consideration in the divorce. Your son's attorney will handle it. She does have an interest since it was the marital home.
