The Question is do`es John Smith husband to Sue Smith obtain any rights to property, if Sue Smith Dies Before her father? The fathers document states:
I give the following items to Sue and her husband, John Smith, as husband and wife: My home, personal possessions, and vehicle.

Only if John outlives Sue and Sue's pappy.

Agree; unless "pappy" decides to change the document if Sue (his daughter) dies before him.

As it is written though, it would be as army judge noted as long as the document is a legally binding document ("contract"). (though someone "might" argue since it says as husband & wife that he is no longer a husband but a widower)

I concur, Sue being dead, will cause the bequest to become invalid.
