I am a Contractor that was sub contracting for a Property Preservation Company doing trash outs on forclosed homes in California. I was told that my companies services were no longer needed and have not been paid and am being ignored by staff, phone calls e-mails etc. I have four employees that are constanly calling me to get paid for the work we done and I don,t blaim them. I want to get paid what we are owed as well. It has been 3 pay periods and nothing. I have bills that have went over due because of this and workers on my back and it is very frustrating because my employees are losing faith in me and it makes me look bad and it seems like all I can do is wait and hope to hear something from The Company and thats not fair. To make a long story short besides all else that I am going threw, what can I do for my hardship with this matter?

Thank You!

I suggest you contact a lawyer. You can sue the company for your payments. Your employees can sue you for their wages. They can also contact the state labor agency. This could end up costing you.

Recognize that the company you worked for might be bankrupt or insolvent. I suggest you investigate.

Why? At least you'll know if there is a possibility of you getting paid. Otherwise, there is little else legally you can do.
