My elderly mother wants too protect herself from my father's out of control gambling. She is afraid if he dies she will be left with his debt and or lose property that is paid off and is in her name such as car. How does she protect herself from losing everything?

She can divorce him.
That will get the assets divided up before his demise.
She will not be responsible for his personal debts, especially his gambling debts upon his demise.
But, if you really want to help her, take her to a lawyer for a discussion about divorce, separation, bankruptcy, and how she can protect her assets in OK.
