Proving I am an heir

Father died in 1988 in CA. Mother died intestate in 1991 in Texas. My sister and I were/are their only living children.
How can I prove that I am an heir?

24 years later? Why would you need to prove this now? The estate should be long settled.

Short answer: Mineral rights and the fact that I have discovered within the past week that sister, who was
the administrator, never did what was necessary to show that I am mom's heir. I am not interested in any
other assets.

You might discuss with a lawyer to see what you might be able to do at this late date.
