My girlfriend who does not have a drivers license, was parked at a store in Scottdale Pa on Memorial Day. She came out of the store and got in her vehicle which had a unlegal license plate but looked totally legal, the sticker on the plate was up to date and to the naked eye the car looked legal. When she got in the vehicle she saw a police car sitting in an alley about 50 yards away, so she pulled out and did not speed or run a stop sign or anything illegal. After she exited the parking lot and was going down the street for a few hundred yards the police pulled out sped up behind her and pulled her over about 300 yards outside the city limits. The cop gave her fines for no license, no insurance, bad plate, and driving on an suspended plate. When the police officer came up to the vehicle he never said why he pulled her over and it came over his radio at that moment that the plate was bad. My question is Can he pull her over for no reason? When she asked him why he pulled her over he said that she looked at him suspiciously. I think everyone looks at a cop that way even if they have nothing to hide. I mean ok she was illegal but that still doesnt give him the right to just pull her over to see if she was legal. I mean hundreds of cars probably pass him everyday and look at him wrong but he doesnt pull all of them over so why did he choose her? Does police go around running every person he sees plate everyday? I think not. Also he gave her no citation for anything she did wrong , not even a warning for for anything, just fines for what he discovered after he pulled her over. Please answer my question for me and let me know if we need a lawyer to win this in district court. Thank you Dennis Stewart
