Pulling Customer Credit

I have a customer who disputes my purpose for pulling their credit. They have had a transaction with my company as we are an auto dealership and have a previously signed credit application. The customer says that we pulled their credit without their permission. We have two vehicles tied into one contract and the customer wanted to return one of the vehicles and wanted us to refinance. We pulled their credit and the customer has filed a complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs in our State (SC). My question is did I have a legal right to pull that customers credit again using a previous signed credit application?

Q: My question is did I have a legal right to pull that customers credit again using a previous signed credit application?

A: It depends on what it said.

The statement at the bottom of the application the customer signed states as follows "I affird that the information I have given on this application and any attachments to it is true and complete. I authorize (name of business) to verify this information and to ask for additional information from my employer and others concerning statements I have made in this application. I authorize any credit inquiries necessary for the processing of this application. I agree that this application will remain the property of (name of business) whether or not I am given the loan."

I think you are ok, because this transaction revolves back to the original application signature. I would not worry about it.
