Purchase agreement has different vin

I was wondering what issues can I run into? I purchased a polaris utv 2 years ago from my lo cal dealer. I paid 3k down and financed the rest. At the time of the sale I paid for VIN etching, and an extended warranty. A few months ago the dealership was raided by state police and shut down. I asked around and was told they were selling vehicles with wrong vins at full retail and telling the manufacturers they didnt sell them yet. I decided to look into my paperwork and low and behold my vin is nowhere near the vin on the paperwork.

Contact the state police, advise someone you are one of the VIN victims.

Most of us are not from CT so how would we know?

This is another example of a person walking out the door with documents that they never read.

Contact the manufacturer to find out if this is a problem.

If it's titled and registered for road use you will also have to deal with the DMV in getting good title, assuming you don't lose it to the manufacturer.

I read about it a few years ago.
It was a pretty big deal in your state, but there were others.

You should also contact your lender.
Lenders can sometimes offer you assistance in sorting out messes.
