Hi,

I live in Pennsylvania and received a judgment in my favor a couple of years ago for my deposit that was not returned to me. The ruling was for a little over $1100. My former landlord payed me $300, but abruptly quit payment (we had a payment arrangement).

The judge told me that I had several option in collecting my money if he decides not to pay me including placing a lien on his property. I have called several times and threatened that I will place a lien on his property. However, all that my former landlord did was act immature, call me names and tell me that I cannot do that.

I am fed up with my former landlord and want my money. How do I go about placing a lien on his property?

Thanks for the reply, but I know I can do this. I am asking how do I go about placing a lien on the property. I am not naive enough to believe I could foreclose and take his property for a measly $800.

Does anyone know how I go about placing a lien on my former landlords property?

Thank you in advance.

Did you file your judgement with the Clerk and Recorder of your county? That would be helpful for you.

As far as a lien, you should be able to google the forms for your state. You can also try your states law library online, they may have what you need to get you going on a lien.

I would get that judgment filed with the C AND R. YOu should have done that the day you got your judgement. Never the less, you can do it anytiime.

Your local court house should have examples of liens that you could copy.
