I have a friend that was engaged and living together for 3-4 years. They live in illinois and there is no common law, but they have broken the engagement and he is trying to get her to move out. My question is that I am afraid he will get screwed and want to make sure there is no legal actions she can take against him. He has never abused or had any legal altercations, and everything is in his name, and it is a house that he owns. Does he have to give her a 30 day notice or are there legal actions he need to complete. He has told her she needs to move out but to no avail, if anything she has threatened to hurt herself.
I would appreciate an answer because he is a really good friend and I dont want to see him get the raw end of the deal.
