Questions on Divorce and Money

I live in Washington State. My husband has a lot of medical bills and says he will take them in the divorce but plans to file bankruptcy. Can the institutions come after me if he files? Also, he says we have to be married for him to make me the beneficiary on his life insurance at work - is that true?

Not true on the life insurance. He should be able to name anyone he wants as beneficiary. He probably will not list you as it if you divorce unless the courts tell him too.
