Dear Legal Experts:

I got divorce a year and a half ago; however, I just decided to submit a quitclaim deed to the office of records to have my life in order. The problem is that there are four of us in the warranty deed. The mortgage is under the first couple that are still married. I do not know if the "grantor" would be my ex husband only and the grantee, myself only or if I have to include the first couple also as grantees since they will still be on the mortgage. Could you please clarify this concern.
I really appreciate your response.

The mortgage and the deed are separate documents. You should never sign a deed that has not been prepared by or either reviewed by your attorney.
